The soft water-loving reed grass -Kauna grows abundantly in the fading wetlands of Manipur. Its long, durable fibres are naturally resistant to moisture, decay, and pests, making it ideal for crafting functional items. For generations, this eco-friendly craft has been passed from mothers to daughters, preserved primarily by women using no chemical dyes or machines—just carbon-neutral, ecologically safe techniques.
